Coming off a victory by a majority decision over Micah Branch on April 21st 2012, Crossty is ready and anxious to get back in the ring from a 16-month recess. During this time, Mel’s focus has been training camp, where he has had the opportunity to spar and maintain his training rhythm with top—caliber figures, such as current Undefeated WBC Lightweight Champion of the World, Adrien “The Problem” Broner and Devon Alexander, as well as with a new strength coach, three times per week.
Michael Grace, CEO of Starpower Boxing states that his fighter, “ Mel is in the best shape of his life.  A year from now, with the right fights and situation, Mel will get where he need to be: Able to take on any of the top 10 Junior Lightweight Fighters.” Young and hungry, at age 27, Crossty has been an intelligent fighter that’s has been able to use a style of either technical skills or power to overcome each of his opponents; with these components of intelligence and style variation of either strength or technicality, Crossty is well on his way to perfecting his style in each match, defining his boxing career in the Junior Lightweight Division and becoming a future champion.
